Marriage and adultery part 1
Text:1 Corinthians 13:1-13,mark 10:6-9,Hebrews 13:4
The institution of marriage is the first institution God laid down and the commandment and covenant of marriage should not be broken for any reason. Genesis 2:18-25,
Marriage should be based on love and not lust the characteristic of any successful marriage is found in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
The reason why many couples have broken relationship is because true love is missing as the marriage goes on and many things are taken for granted.
If God wanted to say that two wives was good for a man (Adam) he would have created two (eves) to be wife for Adam. From the beginning of marriage it has always been one man, one wife.
Am sure many of you men today will not tell a woman that after I marry you, I will marry another woman in addition and I know no virtuous woman will want to marry a man who will still want to have more wives after her.
There is no excuse for adultery before God and the covenant made on the wedding day has been signed in heaven because God was present, the man,the woman,both families witnesses and those who came to eat and drink. So before you can break your marital vow or divorce your spouse you bring back everyone present on your wedding day and reverse your vow which is impossible.
For those who are second wives or concubines, same as married to a divorcee. Remember you came in between two people and you are trying to put them asunder you are likely to be seen as a threat to them by God. Mark 10:6-9
There is a serious consequence on adultery, David suffered it even to his unborn children 2 Samuel 11.
God does not tolerate adultery in any form and will punish those who have extramarital affairs and those who will break their marital vow.
In marriage, you must try to make sure that you fuel and rekindle your love daily and create time for your spouse and children and intercede for them in prayers.
Whenever you think someone wants to come in between you and your partner do all you can (not violence) to fight for your spouse.
God is the ultimate judge and those who practice sexual sin; he will rightly judge and destroy in eternal flames of destruction.
Ministers of God today are not even showing good examples regarding marriage so you can look up to them because you don’t have an excuse since you have the bible and you have heard the truth either you believe or not.
The only option you have in marriage concerning adultery is forgiveness and forgetting if you leave your partner on grounds of adultery or any other reason even when they are guilty, then God himself will not forgive you your sins too, plain and simple..You have to endure till God intervenes or you live apart and stay unmarried.
Note this as the door of fornication closes on your wedding day, the very second you are joined together under witness as husband and wife the door of adultery opens.
