Text: Judges 2:16, 1 Samuel 14:48, Colossians 2:15, Matthew 12:29

INTRODUCTION

A spoiler is anybody, force or agent that torments, afflicts and wrecks his victim. Another name for the spoiler is plunderer or robber.

Right from the Old Testament period, there have been oppositions to the people of God; we can call these oppositions as spoilers or plunderers. In judges 2:16 we read that the Lord raised deliverers such as Deborah, Samson, Gideon, Jephthah for Israel in the form of judges to deliver the people of Israel from spoilers.

In modern day Christianity, the spoilers have taken a very dynamic way of operating and this has made many Christian frustrated in their Christian journey. The chief spoiler of mankind today is the devil and this is confirmed in the scriptures, john 10:10; Glory be to God who gave us Jesus who has given us power to overcome the spoilers of our possessions and inheritance. Luke 10:18-19.

John 10:10a The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

We thank God for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross which perfected our deliverance from the hands of the spoilers at no cost to us. This victory has made deliverance for the believer. The spoilers have spoiled many families, churches, nations and they have stolen many inheritances, glory, blessings, harvest from their legitimate owners, but as the Lord lives, you shall be delivered from your spoilers in Jesus name, amen.

Colossians 2:15 [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

ACTIVITIES OF THE SPOILERS ON THEIR VICTIM

• The spoilers afflict their victims: the spoilers afflict their victims as long as they have not been liberated, they afflict their victims with hardship and hopelessness in adversity.. proverbs 1:11-13, Judges 4:3
• The spoilers steal and devour inheritance and harvest:  the spoilers send their victims into the dens; mountains and caves so that they their harvest can be taken from them to be wasted and destroyed. Isaiah 42:22, Judges 6:2-5
• The spoiler frustrates the effort of their victims: the  spoilers impoverish their victims and ensure that they don’t have the means to sustain  themselves judges 6:6
• They spoil the poor: Isaiah 3:12-14, proverbs 22:22-23 tells us the vulnerable people who are spoiled are the poor and that the Lord will spoil those that spoil or rob the poor. Proverbs 24:15
• The spoilers destroy their victims: the plunderers today after spoiling the resources of their victims are merciless and are ready to destroy their victims. Exodus 15:9.
• The spoilers mock their victims shamefully; 2 kings 18:19-35.

HOW TO GET DELIVERED FROM THE SPOILERS

• Need for a deliverer: God through our Lord Jesus Christ is the ultimate deliverer that can spoil those who plunder you and give you back in return all that has been taken from you. Jeremiah 30:16, Judges 14:19, Isaiah 17:14, Obadiah 1:17.
• Need for prayer: you need to cry to God in prayer for deliverance from your spoilers till you are delivered and rescued. Isaiah 33:2, Judges 6:7-8.
• Take an action: don’t just wait for deliverance but have a change of heart in repentance from your sins and iniquity because most times it is sin that causes us to be spoiled by the spoilers. Lay an ambush against your spoilers, Joshua 8:2, 1 Samuel 14:36.
• Live a life of holiness and righteousness:  whenever we live righteous lives that will move God to keep the spoilers away from us. Isaiah 42:24
• Pronounce judgment on your spoilers and become stronger than your spoilers. Job 22:28, Matthew 12:29, Matthew 18:18

CONCLUSION

It is the will of God that we and our possessions are at peace and away from spoilers, we can read in job 1:10, God truly blessed job and the works of his hands, the Lord also put an hedge of protection roundabout his house and over all he owned on every side. This is the basic truth that the Lord has the power to keep the spoilers away from you and the works of your hands. Psalm 119:162, Romans 11:26

The spoilers rejoice in the wailing of their victims, I don’t know where they have spoiled you either in your finances because you cannot gather the harvest of the labour of your hands, or in your health, or in your family and your children have been taken from you; you have been spoiled by the enemy spiritually. I pray that as you have read this message a fire will begin to burn in you to push you recover all that has been taken from you. Numbers 31:53

Jesus is the only saviour and deliverer that you need to spoil those that spoil you and ultimately collect all that was taken from you. Philippians 2:9-11, Luke 4:16, Galatians 1:4-5.

Brethren I can tell you authoritatively that God thinks of you all the time and he can’t seem to get his mind off you whether you are a believer, atheist or unbeliever .Isaiah 59:1,matthew 5:45,2 peter 3;9.
What happens when we can’t seem to see anything changing in our lives, situations is sometimes due to the iniquities separating us from God. Matthew 59:2 psalms 66:18.
God knows about your sickness and God hearing about how long you have been in our sickness are from two different perceptions, first is, nothing is hidden from God so he knows all things omniscient and God hearing from you about your sickness makes you tell him about it before he can act on your behalf, ask, seek and find. Matthew 7:7-8, Hebrews 11:6.
Truthfully to hear from God, to receive from God, to find from God then you have to stay away from sin, iniquities and disobedience Isaiah 59:1-2.
Many hands are filled with blood because they have shed innocent blood by killing the oppressed; lying against innocent people, giving the wrong judgment intentionally seduced innocent people to destruction. God is not blind to see that, come to Jehovah with clean hands. Isaiah 1:15.
Prayer: God please forgive me of all my iniquities and please remove the barrier that hinders you from hearing my prayers. In Jesus Name. Amen. Isaiah 1:16-19.

The hands of God is a very important personality of God and its not just a playing matter but a serious matter.
Just like our human hands are very useful so also the spiritual hands of God is very useful either for judgement or for deliverance.. According to the bible we shall see some manifestations of the hands of God.
1.Judgement: In the book of 1 samuel 5:1-12,after the ark of God was taken away from israel by the philistines, we see that the hand of God was heavy on the men of ashdod,gath of the philistines for judgement and destruction and they saw the wrath of God. they did not see peace until they returned the ark of God back to God’s people. References: exodus 9:3,deuteronomy 2:15,joshua 22:31,judges 2:1-15,psalm 75:8, acts 13:11
Prayer: whatever your enemy has stolen from you that is a sign of God’s glory,gift,joy,blessing and inheritance. the hand of God will be strong on your enemy that they will have no choice than to return them back to you because the Lord will fight for you and forgive you your sins.
2. In 1 samuel 7:13 we see that the hand of the Lord was against the philistines during the time of samuel as judge of israel and the philistines feared to attack them…the hand of God could be a defense for his children.
Prayer: ruth 1:13,lord God please don’t let your hands be against me..In Jesus mighty name. Amen
3. 2 chronicles 30:12. The Hand of God gives people strength to obey his will and commandments or instruction. the hand of God is always responsible for a revival.(Acts 11:21) 1 samuel 12:15 the hand of the lord works with his children when they are in obedience and against them when they are in disobedience.
4.the hand of God test and trains us. according to Job 2:10,19:21 we see that job was tested and he knew the hand of God was involved. As long as we are right with God we trust him through the good and bad times and always see challenges as the hand of God to take us to the next level.
5.The hand of God teaches us, job 27:11..the hands of the earthly teacher is very important,the hands makes gestures,writes on the board,draws and many others,so also the hand of God teaches us what we need to know through his Holy Spirit. Its difficult to see an earthly school employ a handless teacher to teach her pupils.
6.Welfare and food;according to ecclesiastes 2:24,it is from the hand of God that we have assurance of eating and drinking and have a food reward for our labour. References: joshua 4:24,isaiah 41:1-29
7.The security and works of the righteous and the wise are in the hands of God.. In. The book of ecclesiastes 9:1. So as long as you know you are a righteous of God then have no fear that your life and works are safe in his hands,just like a child is safe in her mothers’ hands.
8. 1 peter 5:6 under the hand of God is humility and meekness and when you tend to go above it is pride which leads to destruction..beware of pride because it always leads to a great shameful fall.
9. The hand of the Lord gives unusual strength for exploit,spiritual manifestation of God’s gift,power and speed. We see a good example in 1 kings 18:46 where elijah ran faster than a horse and came to the entrance of jezreel ahead of king ahab when the hand of the Lord came upon him. References 2 kings 3:15-18,ezekiel 1:1-28,3:14,ezekiel 8:1-18,luke 1:66
10. The hand of the Lord takes you to your place of meeting with God. We see in ezekiel 3:22-24 the hand of the lord that was on ezekiel led him to the place where the lord will speak to him…
10. The hand of God has a good side of giving favour and restoration without limits either from God or from man..according to ezra 7:6 we see that ezra the scribe in captivity enjoyed favour from the king because the hand of the Lord was upon him. Ezra 7:28 references: proverbs 21:1,isaiah 62:1-12
Prayer: I pray for you reading this message that the hand of the Lord shall favour you in every dimension of your life,ministry and destiny. In Jesus mighty name..Amen Jesus is Lord and Saviour
