The only comforter from our Lord Jesus
Text: John 14:1-31,John 16:13
The comforter Jesus promised the disciples and the rest of the believers is the Holy Spirit,also known as the Holy Ghost. John 14:1-31
Now what does it mean to comfort? To comfort means to alleviate pain or discomfort. To comfort means to give moral or emotional strength to a person.
The comforter was promised by the Lord Jesus to his disciples and followers to comfort them in the world when He was leaving the world as a man in the flesh.
The comforter has come to the world on the day of Pentecost,he did this in a glorious way with the rush of a mighty wind and with fire. Acts 2:1-4.
The comforter is the person of the third person in the triune God and he is the excellency part of God.
The comforter may be called the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost. You cannot know Jesus better without the comforter because he will speak of the Father and Son(Jesus). John 14:26
Every Christian is not of this world that is the reason why we need the comforter to comfort us in the troubles of this world,Ecclesiastes 4:1,the comforter is the person who gives unspeakable Joy.
The question i have for you is: Do you have the comforter in your life?
If Yes then you will have solace and succor to overcome the trials and tribulations the world brings your way.
What the comforter does in the life of the believer?
1. He gives comfort and peace to the followers of Jesus.John 14:18.
2. He abides with the Christian forever John 14:16.
3.He is the spirit of truth that dwells with and in the believer,He guides you in all truth because he will not speak of Himself but what he hears from the Father and Son. John 14:17;16:13.
4. He was sent in the name of Jesus and will teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance especially of the words of Jesus Christ. John 14:26
6. The comforter will Testify of Jesus Christ. John 15:26
7. The comforter will show us things to come,the spirit of prophecy and revelation. John 16:13b
8. The comforter makes intercession for us with groaning’s that cannot be uttered..He helps the believer to pray according to the will of God and how to pray. Romans 8:26.
9. The comforter ensures that under the obedience of the believer he should not miss Heaven.
10. The comforter is the revealed of secrets for a believer not to dwell in ignorance of breakthrough.
11. You need the comforter to witness for Christ Jesus and He puts in your mouth what you must say to be a fruitful witness of Jesus. Acts 2:14-47,6:10-7:1-57.
In conclusion,all you need to know about the comforter is written in the Holy 📚 (bible) and you have to have a personal relationship with the Holy Ghost to know him personally,the comforter desires a relationship with you.
